Coaching

Coaching is a powerful tool for autistics, and I use different strategies for people based on where they are in their assessment process. For example, those who are just beginning to wonder if they are autistic and are learning about autism on social media might want to explore whether they are actually autistic. We talk about internal experiences, such as bodily sensitivities or thought processes. Social relationships and the ways in which communication happens are also important.

For those recently diagnosed or self-realized, there is often a period of adjustment, where people may need help in making sense of their lives and their place in society. We identify personal and occupational goals, and how individuals can advocate for accommodations (or self- accommodate).
